Today, the girls and I, plus a group of fellow UUFLB congregationalists, spent a few hours helping the Aid For Friends‘ mission in Philadelphia. Papa helped slice up a dozen boned turkeys, while the girls helped portion out fruit, pasta & potatoes onto hundreds of single serving tin trays. Everyone then helped to cover, label and seal the trays in plastic bags and stack them to be delivered to the needy later in the week. I’ve never seen the girls work so hard (I was a very proud father) … they went non-stop for almost two and a half hours. By the time we left they were exhausted, but proud of their contribution. Later in the day, they were to have their piano & guitar recital (to be posted soon), so they only had a short car ride to listen to Regina Spektor and get their energy back!
